Things to ask the previous owner

More often than not it is the little things that help in making the move easier. Before moving in, ask the seller about:

• Names of neighbours
• Names of tradesmen who usually service the house
• Leaving old house plans, spare wallpaper, list of paint colours etc
• Location of mains for water, gas and power
• Spare parts, manuals and guarantee cards they have for any appliances
• Name of and milk man and delivery times
• Day and approximate time of weekly rubbish collection
• Details of any neighbourhood watch group
• Forwarding address for any mail still delivered
